TRIADE E RIVOLTI (EAR TRAINING)

Those who have already practiced the ear training exercise on the major scale have probably understood that each interval of the scale possesses its own distinctive character. Each note of the scale, when related to the tonic, acquires a unique and recognizable character: each individual will decide which adjective to assign to each of these intervals—some intervals may feel more “sunny,” others more introverted, and so on. However, beyond individual perception, the important thing is being able to distinguish them. The exercise on the major scale performs this function perfectly and helps to recognize all seven notes of the scale. Now, however, let us focus only on the notes of the triad.

All that remains is to sing the notes of the triad in all three inversions, starting from root position. There is no need to follow a strict tempo; it is also recommended to freely explore these notes by alternating ascending and descending movements, long notes, repeated notes, and other variations.

The three triad positions: root position, first inversion, second inversion.
